Stupid Time Machine
From the back alleys of New Orleans comes the sketch and improv comedy group Stupid Time Machine. Through their videos, improv, and live sketch shows, this unapologetic group takes everything that makes us uncomfortable or afraid and shows us there is always a reason to laugh.
Their first sketch revue "Love in the Time of Swine Flu", written by CJ Hunt,Derek Dupuy, Grace Blakeman, Mike Spara, Joella Fink,and Alison Phillips, debuted to rave reviews at the 2009 New Orleans Fringe Festival, selling out every show and requiring an extra encore performance. Since then, the group has been showcased at the Chicago Skechfest, iO West, NYC International Fringe Festival, Hell Yes Fest, the Dallas Comedy Festival (2011), FringeNYC 2010, Hollywood Fringe, MegaFest, and 2010 New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival, and the San Francisco Sketch Festival. The group performs weekly at The Howlin' Wolf Den in New Orleans' CBD area of town to large crowds for it's weekly improv show. Stupid Time Machine has also co-founded The New Movement, a comedy theater and training center based in New Orleans with a sister theater in Austin, TX. The members of Stupid Time Machine serve as part of the faculty of TNM, teaching improv and sketch, performing, and coaching student troupes.
