Acting Choices w/Frank Caeti $50
Friday, March 30, 2012 3-6PM
As human beings we are all capable of a diverse range of emotions, yet often our improv scenes are underacted and driven by ironic department. We may be compelled to fill the scene with words and become uncomfortable with vulnerability and silence, but sometimes what we donʼt say is more important than what we say. Making strong acting choices that are informed by subtext and intention can create richer scenes. In this workshop, we will focus on making honest, real choices that ground the improviser to the emotional reality of the scene.

8 Seconds w/Chad Haught and Kyle Austin $30
Friday, March 31, 2012 3-6PM
In each scene, we have about 8 seconds to capture the audience's attention. In the 8 second workshop, players are taught ways to start off each scene with a bang that will grab the audience as quick as possible and take them on the ride with us. In this class, we'll cover starting the scene in the middle by using specific dialogue for initiations, starting with your "thing," and how to avoid thinking the top of the scene into the garbage.

The Way of Improv w/Rich Talarico $50
Saturday, March 31, 2012 2:30-5:30PM
The way of improv is a workshop in long form improv. Rich is a 19-year improv vet having studied with Stephen Colbert, Del Close, and Charna Halpern. The way of improv is a zen approach to improv that focuses on story telling skills. Itʼs logic, not necessarily creativity that opens the doors, so good improv is within anyoneʼs reach. Itʼs all about working together so experience is not a must. Plotless improv, and moment to moment play! Itʼs all about getting in the POV of your character...play "who" and "Where" and let the "What" take care of itself!
